Over the past five years the BCSE has made a great impact on the development of learning environments and shared best practice in education, design and construction across the UK and internationally. Our organisation has provided a vital role in bringing together all those who care about the design and construction of schools from across the public and private sector.
As we face the highest cuts in education in the last sixty years, collaboration is key to survival and innovation. The BCSE's membership has taken on even greater significance as we build upon and expand our work in the face of new challenges. We have been pleased to see that in the past few months our fastest growing sector in our membership is from schools, academies and local authorities.
BCSE Members are able to take advantage of a number of benefits which include receiving fortnightly e-bulletins which divulge up-to-date and informative developments in our industries, as well as discounts and savings on various external and internal events, conferences and seminars. Some of these discounts include:
* Access to members-only events (e.g. twilights) which constitute over 50% of our annual events calendar.

* Substantial ticket discounts including 40% off all seminars and 40% off all network nights.

The BCSE will EDUCATE our members
Research -- We will continue to undertake and support cutting edge research to demonstrate and help us to better understand the impact of learning environments. From research around areas such as post occupancy evaluation to sustainability, we will support and lead research that will educate our members and the wider public about the importance of learning environments.
Business analysis research -- We will regularly keep you informed with invaluable members-only research which will provide you with up-to-date information and business analysis on the issues that members are facing. We are holding members-only Business Innovation Seminars and training courses which will support members in rethinking the way they work in these difficult times.
Best practice -- We will continue to bring together and showcase best practice from around the world through publications, events and study tours. The BCSE will be launching a series of members-only design charrettes this year looking at cheap schools. We will also be having a North American study tour in September/October which will include attendance at the AIA CAE conference in Seattle.
Latest news -- We will continue to keep you informed through our popular members only fortnightly eBulletins which will let you know the very latest in the area of education, design and construction.
The BCSE will ADVOCATE for our members
Events -- We will continue to deliver and expand upon our high class programme of events. From our Industry Awards, to events looking at the Priority Schools Building Programme, we have developed a range of events to meet your needs. These include exclusive members events such as Twilights as well as seminars and network nights for which you will receive a 40% members discount and have the privilege of member's priority booking. Members will also receive a 25% discount off sponsorship opportunities.
Policy and Government -- We will work closely with DfE to inform education policy and represent the views of our membership. We are using projects such as the Decent School Standard to advocate for efficient and effective learning environments for young people and are pleased to have the support of the government for it. We will also be holding policy events such as our policy update seminar which takes place after the autumn party conferences and our members-only House of Commons Lunch in June. The BCSE will continue to bring to you information and guidance straight from Westminster.
Press and Communications -- We will continue to be a strong voice in the media, representing the views and concerns of our membership. We will work with national and local press to advocate for the best learning environments for young people using our relationships across general and trade press.
Partnerships and alliances -- We will work with key organisations to represent members views and interests, whilst also enabling you to benefit from other organisation's expertise and resources.
The BCSE will ENABLE our members
Programmes -- We will lead innovation in this field though programmes that are used to pilot and scale ideas. We will work with members to develop leading programmes on the most relevant issues building on projects such as the Big School Makeover and the Decent School Standard. We will use these programmes to fill the gap and work together to think innovatively. We are also launching programmes of work around digital learning, sustainability, inclusion and learning environments that support creativity.
Network and community -- We will continue to bring people together, creating a community that is able to use the BCSE as an independent forum for debate and the sharing of ideas. The BCSE will support you to share knowledge with, and learn from, our other members through formal consortiums and regular exclusive network nights for leaders in these fields to the next generation of talent.
Regions -- After the opening of our first regional base in Cardiff last December we will be opening a number of regional offices around the UK. These regions will be led by BCSE Fellows who work within these regions and can use their experience to support us to create regional programmes of activities. This will enable us to be more responsive to our individual members needs with regional research, events and programmes targeting local issues and creating strong local networks.

3. Members (1-10 staff) £500 per annum
4. Sole Trader £150 per annum
