New BCSE Chief Executive Appointed

The British Council for School Environments (BCSE) has appointed Nusrat Faizullah as its new chief executive.

Nusrat joins the organisation from the Studio Schools Trust, where she was development manager, setting up a national network of studio schools to pioneer new approaches to education for 14 -- 19 year olds.

Prior to that Nusrat was an associate at the Young Foundation, a prominent think tank, where she worked on a number of social enterprises.  Her early career was as one of the first members of the Teach First scheme, where she spent two years in a school in East London.

The Board is delighted that she is joining the BCSE. This is a pivotal time for the design and construction of school buildings. Her wealth of knowledge and experience in the education field will be vital to our future. Nusrat will take up the post in mid-September. A handover period is planned with Ty who will set up introductions with members and others.
