BCSE Awards 2013 Criteria
The BCSE is pleased to announce its Annual Awards programme for 2013 that focuses on excellence in learning environment design.
Now in its sixth year, these independent awards celebrate the pride we have in our schools, highlight what works and promote excellence in the thinking and design of education facilities in all our schools.
Our awards are not for beautiful buildings, they are for the very best learning environments that make a difference to pupils, teachers and communities. With our PROJECT AWARDS we celebrate these environments and showcase them to the world. With our ORGANISATION AWARDS we also celebrate the organisations that are involved in creating learning environments including architects, contractors, suppliers, consultants, local authorities and academy sponsors.
Entries for our Excellence in Learning Environment Design are invited from projects which meet the learning environment criteria. These can be learning environments in the UK or Internationally and include the independent school sector. We present up to twelve awards for projects spanning new build, refurbishment, outdoor or small projects which all have had an impact on those using the space. Some of our awards for last year included Excellence in Design for SEN, Secondary New Build, and Independent project.
We also award 'badges' to those winners and highly commended who show particular excellence in certain areas as listed in the 'badge section' please highlight them in your submission for the main awards. Some badges include 'Excellence in Design for Outdoor Learning', 'Excellence in Design for Heritage' and 'Excellence in Design for Interiors'.
